Privacy Policy
Effective: August 26, 2026
RateAnySite lets you rate websites and read what other people think of them. This policy explains what personal information we handle and how we use it.
1. Information we process
- Sign-in information from Google or Apple: email address, name, profile picture, and the account identifier the provider gives us
- Information you create: star ratings, written reviews, replies, display name, profile picture, and the sites you register
- Information generated as you use the service: account creation and update times, a session identifier, the page paths you view, the referring domain, your browser language, and records needed to operate service features
- In the mobile app: a device token used to deliver push notifications
Our own visit analytics do not store IP addresses, full user-agent strings, or the full URL of external pages. A session identifier may be regenerated when you close the browser tab. Visits made while you are signed in are stored together with your account identifier, so those records are linked to your account rather than anonymous.
2. How we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, display profiles and ratings, verify authorship, provide the rating and reply features, prevent abuse, resolve errors, analyze traffic and growth, and operate the service.
3. What is public
Your display name, profile picture, and the star ratings, reviews, and replies you write can be seen by other people — that is how the service works. We do not show your email address to other users.
4. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as we provide the service. You can edit or delete any rating you wrote. To keep conversations intact, a deleted rating may leave a deletion notice in place of its text, and replies beneath it remain.
You can delete your account inside the service. Choose “Delete account” on your profile screen: your sign-in and profile are permanently removed, the text of every rating you wrote is erased, and your uploaded profile picture is deleted. This happens immediately and cannot be undone. So that other people’s ratings are preserved, an authorless deletion notice remains where your rating stood.
5. Processors and third-party services
- Google OAuth and Sign in with Apple — authentication
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
- Google Cloud Translation — only when you choose “See translation,” the text of that rating is sent for translation. The result is stored so it can be reused.
- Apple Push Notification service — notification delivery in the mobile app
Each provider may process information only as needed to provide its service, and its own privacy policy also applies. Site icons are fetched through RateAnySite’s own server, so which sites you browse is not sent directly to a third party.
6. Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile and your own ratings, delete your account yourself, and block other users. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You can revoke RateAnySite’s access from your Google or Apple account settings.
7. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when the service or applicable requirements change. We will announce material changes in the service and update the effective date above.
